Aaron Jones and James Cook are two great running backs.
Week 5 starts with an international game and plenty of things can change in the league after this Sunday. Fantasy football season is well and truly underway, and with bye weeks arriving, the decisions get tougher. Jones and Cook are certain to produce in their respective games... so who to choose?
Is Aaron Jones a great fantasy pick in Week 5?
Starting the Minnesota Vikings running back represents a good option even though the game against the New York Jets will be played in a neutral field. He has amassed some great 5.0 yards per carry this season and the Jets defense is allowing 4.6 yards per carry, one of the biggest numbers in the league.
He will certainly be a huge part of the Vikings' offensive game plan due to his excellent production, but also because Robert Saleh will have a good specific plan to help stop Sam Darnold. Running the ball will help the quarterback maintain his good record.
Is James Cook a great fantasy pick in Week 5?
He also makes for a good pick, as the Houston Texans have a very good team but are struggling to defend when teams run the ball in 2024. They're allowing 4.7 yards per carry on average, which is the NFL's 9th-highest mark.
Buffalo has been using James Cook a lot recently as he also has a great production in the passing game. Their offense might've hit a rock in Week 4, but their consistency and early production in the season are extremely exciting. He has been great and Week 5 is another opportunity for him to dominate.
Whom to start between Aaron Jones and James Cook in fantasy football Week 5?
Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer has Cook ranked as a better option. It projects a good game for Jones in London, believing that he could be a bigger factor in the passing game; however, the Bills have been doing a great job picking their poison with the ball.
If you have room for two guys, then you won't regret any of them, but if it's up to only one, then go with the Bills star.
