Cam Newton was one of the best quarterbacks of the early 2010s. The 2011 first-overall pick by the Carolina Panthers had one of the best rookie seasons ever.

He threw for a career-high 4,061 yards while setting an NFL record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 14. In 2015, he had the best season of his career. He led the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 record, won MVP, and led them to the Super Bowl.

Newton has made three Pro Bowls, won league MVP, was Offensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-Pro. He holds the NFL record for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (75), most rushing touchdowns in a single-season for a quarterback (14), and the most rushing attempts by a quarterback (1,118).

After sitting out the entire 2022-2023 season, Newton is looking to make a comeback this season. Last night, he announced on Twitter that he will be throwing today at Auburn's Pro Day, with hopes of getting noticed and signed.

Newton announced:

""Tell me how these randoms keep getting jobs. Don't worry about it, I'mma show you. I can't wait to show you. Ahhh, I love it. I've seen a lot of people toying the idea, and it's official. I will be throwing at Auburn's pro day Tuesday. Ain't 32 motherf**kers better than me, you dig?"

He sat out the entire season last year. In 2021, he didn't record a single win in his second stint with the Carolina Panthers. His last decent season came in 2018 when he went 6-8 with the Panthers.

He went 0-2 the following season and missed most of the season due to a Lisfranc injury. The following season, in 2020, he joined the New England Patriots as their starting quarterback after Tom Brady departed the team.

Despite finishing the 7-8 season as the Pats' starter, Newton had a horrible season. He threw eight touchdowns in 15 games while throwing 10 interceptions. Despite being re-signed by the Pats in the off-season, they released him at the end of August during their final roster cuts.

The following season, he began his second stint with the Carolina Panthers as they signed him on November 11, 2021.

Cam Newton finished the season 0-5 as a starter and recorded 684 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, five interceptions, 230 rushing yards, and five rushing touchdowns.
