Brett Favre's handling of Aaron Rodgers draft shows how misunderstood Packers QB is as a teammate

Could Aaron Rodgers
Could Aaron Rodgers' departure mirror that of his predecessor Brett Favre?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is at the back end of his career and many have said that history may be repeating itself in terms of how Brett Favre's NFL career concluded.

When Aaron Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2004, Favre made it a point that it didn't say in his contract that he was required to teach him everything he knew. When the Packers drafted quarterback Jordan Love in 2020, Rodgers had that same attitude toward the rookie.

In fact, Rodgers has made it clear that he didn't approve of the Packers drafting Love and that they didn't even talk to him about it beforehand. But perhaps that's not the entire story.

Throughout the last few seasons, the Packers have relied on Love to come into the game and start. And every time he has said that Roderges has helped him in some way.

A clip from several years ago shows the Packers quarterback saying how important it is to help the next generation of quarterbacks. Saying that, for the sake of the game, that veteran quarterbacks need to do so.

"I think for the betterment of the game, it's important to bring along the next generation of quarterbacks."

Jordan Love has even said that being able to learn and ask questions from the Super Bowl-winning quarterback has been integral in his development.

"Just kind of able to pick his brain is just, it's pretty amazing."

So, while it may seem like that quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't necessarily want to mentor or teach Jordan Love, it may not be that way behind closed doors.

Could QB Aaron Rodgers be traded to the Las Vegas Raiders?

While Aaron Rodgers may be preparing Jordan Love for the future as a starting quarterback, could that be next season?

After the Green Bay Packers' abysmal season in 2022, rumors began to swirl that the quarterback wanted out of Green Bay.

Last week while playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-am tournament, Rodgers told reporters that he wasn't going to San Francisco. His response came amid rumors that the 49ers may be interested in trading for him.

But during the Pro Bowl Games on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada, his former teammate Davante Adams was asked if he was trying to recruit him to play for the Raiders. Adams said that he is of course doing so and said, 'Why would not anybody do that?'

Adams concluded by saying that he is going to keep up the wishful thinking and hope that everything works out the way he wants it to.

When asked what's the best part of his recruiting process, he said that it was the fact that the quarterback will get to play with him again. Whether Adams' plans come to fruition, fans will just have to wait and see.
