Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears landed in Ford Field ready to make a statement against the leader of their division and one of the best squads in the 2024 NFL season. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft hasn't had the campaign plenty of people expected from him and while difficult, this game presented a solid opportunity for him to shine.

The first half of this game was rough for Williams. He barely spent time on the field and when he was, he had a hard time finding teammates. Williams completed five of 15 pass attempts for 34 yards. His first run came at 2:29 in the second quarter after seeing the Lions take a 16-0 advantage to enter halftime.
The second half of the game was completely different for Williams. He started playing more aggressively and connecting with teammates, making an immediate impact in the second part of the game. Williams connected with Keenan Allen for a 31-yard pass.
He found Allen again early in the fourth quarter for their second touchdown of the game. With 5:36 left on the clock, Williams connected with DJ Moore for another 31-yard pass, cutting the lead to three points after Cairo Santos completed the extra kick.
Caleb Williams tried to complete a game-winning drive in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, but after being sacked three times in the drive and failing to connect with his receivers, the Bears succumbed to the Lions 23-20.
