The Chicago Bears, who entered a new dawn after selecting Caleb Williams with the top overall pick in last year’s draft, had a disappointing 2024 season as they missed the playoffs for the fourth straight year. After all the hype surrounding Williams to start the season, everything fizzled out halfway into the season, and the team finished with an abysmal 5-12 record.

It resulted in the former head coach, Matt Eberflus, being sacked. Chicago replaced Eberflus by managing to snag the hottest candidate in Ben Johnson from the coaching circles to make him the franchise’s 18th full-time head coach. This move may have made them become, perhaps, the biggest offseason winners in 2025.

What is the Chicago Bears' depth chart for 2025-26?

After giving up the most sacks in 2024 (via Statmuse), Bears GM Ryan Poles went on a frenzy in the offseason. He retooled an entire interior O-line by acquiring Drew Dalman, Joe Thuney, and Jonah Jackson either via trade or free agency. After giving a new look to the o-line, Poles bulked up on the defensive side of the ball by spending big money in the trenches, signing defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and pass rusher Dayo Odeyingbo.

After adding big bodies on both sides of the ball, the Bears opted for skill players early in the draft. Chicago added tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden III with their first two picks to form a formidable pass-catching group that already consists of DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, and Cole Kmet.
