NFC Wild Card Playoffs: Washington Commanders v Tampa Bay BuccaneersSource: Getty Images

The 4-time straight-reigning NFC South champions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be entering their third straight year with a different offensive coordinator. Baker Mayfield, holder of the most passing touchdowns since 2023 (via Statmuse), has had the tough luck of not getting the continuity on offense due to both his previous OCs leaving Tampa for a head coaching gig. While both the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers got better, the Bucs are still in a league of their own compared to their 3 divisional counterparts, mainly due to the continuity in quarterback-head coach combo of Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles.

As good as the Bucs have been during the last 4 regular seasons, their postseason performance leaves a lot to be desired. Tampa Bay is 2-4 in the postseason since lifting the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy in the 2020-21 season,

What is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' depth chart for 2025-26?

While the Buccaneers were not a major player during free agency, they managed to keep the in-house talent from leaving by re-signing key players like Lavonte David and Chris Godwin. They still snagged one big-name free agent in Haason Reddick. Bucs would be hoping they get his Philly days version and not the one with the Jets. Nevertheless, it was during the NFL draft that general manager Jason Licht did most of the damage. Licht added to an already embarrassing array of riches when he drafted wide receiver Emeka Egbuba in the first round to pair him up with Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, Cade Otton, and Jake McMillan.

After going offense in the first round, the Bucs went all defense in the next four rounds. Bucs' secondary, which came up with only 7 interceptions during the 2024 season, badly needed ‘ballhawk’ defensive backs, as per the team’s head coach, Todd Bowles (via ESPN). Jason Licht gave what Bowles wanted as Tampa Bay doubled down at the cornerback position by drafting Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish in consecutive rounds.
