CeeDee Lamb offered an injury status ahead of the Dallas Cowboys' Week 10 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The veteran wide receiver, who played through pain on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, was diagnosed with an AC joint injury in his right shoulder after an MRI.
He was initially considered week-to-week, but the Cowboys were optimistic that he could stay on the field, especially with Dak Prescott now on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. On Thursday, Lamb told reporters that his shoulder feels better than at the start of the week.
“My shoulder is much better than it was on Sunday, I’ll tell you that. I feel like I’ve taken a big step these last two to three days. I’m good. I was out there running today," he said (per Jon Machota).
CeeDee Lamb caught eight passes on 12 targets, but he only racked up 47 passing yards and zero touchdowns — a significant drop from his 146 yards against the San Francisco 49ers in their previous game. The Cowboys (3-5) will try to survive amid Dak Prescott's injury and having their top wide receiver on the field is critical.
CeeDee Lamb sends message to Cowboys teammates
CeeDee Lamb made it clear that he's feeling good ahead of the Eagles game. The star wide receiver said he won't wear a brace on Sunday while recalling how he stayed on the field despite the coaches trying to remove him from the game.
"I'm tough. And that's not for show, and that's not to prove to anyone," he said. "That's just me and my will to win and my love for the game."
"They've been trying to take me out since right after it happened, and I wasn't going. And I landed on it three times in a row and that was very brutal for me. It sucked. It was bad."
He also assured his teammates that he would be on the field no matter what.
"With that, I don't want them to be out there without me. They're going to have that confidence that 88 is going to be over there, wherever, the opposite, same side, that I'm going to do my job. So I need them to lock in and do theirs, and with that, we're going to have much success," he said.
While the Cowboys are in a challenging situation without Dak Prescott, a win over the Eagles could start a late playoff push.
