DeAndre Hopkins finds himself in various trade discussions as the Arizona Cardinals look to move the three-time All-Pro wide receiver.
It has been reported that the Cardinals are looking for multiple draft picks in a deal for Hopkins. ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler stated that teams have told him Arizona is seeking second- and third-round picks for Hopkins.
In essence, Fowler said that the Cardinals are "looking for almost like a Christian McCaffrey package." Last season, the 49ers traded for All-Pro running back, giving the Carolina Panthers a second, third, and fourth-round pick in this year's NFL draft. San Francisco also gave Carolina a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft in the deal.
The Kansas City Chiefs, who are reportedly in the mix for the former Clemson Tigers star, have the assets to make a Christian McCaffrey-like deal. Kansas City holds 10 picks in this year's NFL draft, including second and third rounders.
DeAndre Hopkins played in just nine games for the Arizona Cardinals last season, getting 64 receptions for 717 yards and three touchdowns. He missed the first six games of last season due to a suspension for breaching the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
In March 2020, the Cardinals traded for Hopkins from the Houston Texans, sending running back David Johnson, a second- and a fourth-round pick to Houston. Hopkins led the team in touchdowns in his first season with the Cardinals with eight in 2021.
