DeAndre Hopkins fantasy outlook: Week 16 projections for the Arizona Cardinals WR

Green Bay Packers v Arizona Cardinals
DeAndre Hopkins - Green Bay Packers v Arizona Cardinals

DeAndre Hopkins is the best wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, a side that has not had the best of seasons. This can be partly attributed to numerous injuries and a six-game suspension for Hopkins to start the campaign. As such, the Cardinals' playoff hopes are over, and the front office needs to look onward to next season.

In NFL fantasy, however, Hopkins has been a huge producer and should always start, regardless of his matchup. In Week 15, Hopkins led the Cardinals in receptions, targets, and receiving yards against the Denver Broncos. As he has throughout his career, Hopkins continues to produce no matter the QB tossing him the ball.

Week 16 sees the Cardinals go up against the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay really need this one, especially after their miserable second-half performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Buccaneers are still alive in the playoff race and will be looking to bounce back.

Arizona are set to start third-string QB Trace McSorley in this matchup. This presents a worry for DeAndre Hopkins fantasy owners, as uncertainty is always a threat. Tampa Bay have a solid defense, which is ranked #18 against receivers this season.

As such, Hopkins is projected 14.58 points (PPR Leagues). This seems a low projection and it is likely that he will outperform these low expectations. DeAndre Hopkins is a must-start, barring some injury or setback.

How is DeAndre Hopkins performing this season?

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the most feared wide receivers in the NFL, as the Cardinals' star is a threat from anywhere on the Gridiron. Hopkins is an expert route runner, and he is a dream for most QBs. Unfortunately, he and Kyler Murray weren't enough to make Arizona playoff-relevant this season. With Murray out until next year, Hopkins will have to make do with Trace McSorley and Colt McCoy for the remainder of the season.

Hopkins has made 63 receptions for 713 passing yards and three touchdowns in eight games played this season.
