The Carolina Panthers are looking to bounce back from being the worst team in the NFL in 2023, as well as having no viable fantasy football assets. The Panthers finished dead last in the NFC South with a 2-15 record, missing the playoffs for the sixth consecutive season.
After the disastrous 2023 campaign, Carolina hired former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales as their new head coach as well as replacing GM Scott Fitterer with Dan Morgan.
The new-look Panthers will be hoping to be more productive on offense and, in turn, produce more viable fantasy football assets for the new season.
Panthers best fantasy assets in 2024
#5: Bryce Young, QB

After being taken 1st overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Bryce Young's rookie season couldn't have gone much worse. He passed for just 11 touchdowns versus 10 interceptions and was sacked 62 times.
In his past assignments, Dave Canales revitalized the careers of both Geno Smith in Seattle and Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay. Should Canales be able to work his magic on Young, he can still strive at the NFL level.
Carolina invested in their offensive line and drafted young wideouts, giving him the best chance to succeed in 2024.
#4: Adam Thielen, WR
Veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen was a rare bright spot on the Panthers' offense in 2023. Thielen topped 1,000 yards for just the third time in his career, amassing 1,014 yards and four touchdowns on 103 receptions.
He ended the year as WR17 in PPR scoring, mainly because he had no competition for targets in this Carolina offense. However, with the acquisitions of Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette, Thielen's production may regress in 2024.
#3: Chuba Hubbard, RB
At least to begin 2024, Chuba Hubbard should be the lead running back for the Carolina Panthers. They drafted Jonathon Brooks out of Texas in round two of the 2024 NFL Draft but he's likely out injured until midseason.
Last year Hubbard won the starting job over Miles Sanders, rushing for 902 yards and five TDs, adding 233 more yards through the air. In PPR scoring, he was RB27 ahead of the likes of Josh Jacobs and Rhamondre Stevenson.
He will be the clear RB1 in Carolina until Brooks' return, so his ADP of #118 could be a bargain.
#2: Jonathon Brooks, RB
Jonathon Brooks will look to take over from Chuba Hubbard in the Panthers' backfield when he returns from injury. Brooks suffered an ACL tear last year, which is due to keep him out of NFL action until midway through the season.
Brooks was a three-down back at Texas, and whilst it's risky drafting an injured player in fantasy football, Brooks' return down the stretch could win many leagues in 2024.
#1: Diontae Johnson, WR
The Panthers' new WR1 Diontae Johnson should also be their most valuable fantasy football asset in 2024. Diontae Johnson moved to Carolina from the Pittsburgh Steelers after five seasons.
His 2023 campaign was marred with injuries, with Johnson amassing 717 yards and five TDs on 51 receptions. After returning from injury, Johnson had a 23% target share and over 14 expected fantasy points per game.
He now joins the Panthers, hoping second-year QB Bryce Young can take a step forward under new head coach Dave Canales and, in turn, help Johnson become a solid flex option in fantasy football.
