Tight ends have often been one of the most difficult positions to navigate in fantasy football, but they appear to be making a resurgence. The 2024 NFL season has plenty of useful lineup options in a position that used to severely lack depth. Here are some of the best ones to target as Week 3 approaches.

#1 - Mike Gesicki

The Cincinnati Bengals added Mike Gesicki during the offseason, who has already proven to be a useful weapon in their offense. He finished as the weekly TE4 in fantasy football last week with an impressive seven receptions on nine targets for 91 yards. He gets a favorable Week 3 matchup with the Washington Commanders, making him an excellent streamer.

#2 - Hunter Henry

The New England Patriots have one of the weakest groups of wide receivers in the NFL. They have needed players from other positions to step up and Hunter Henry has done exactly that. He finished as the TE2 last week and led the team with 12 targets, so he should be busy again in Week 3 against the New York Jets.

#3 - Jonnu Smith

Tight ends have often struggled to be productive in Mike McDaniel's offense for the Miami Dolphins. They added Jonnu Smith during the offseason and he could be changing that narrative. He caught six of his seven targets last week and could potentially be even more involved as check-down option with Skylar Thompson filling in as their quarterback this week.

#4 - George Kittle

George Kittle is one of the best overall tight ends to use in Week 3 fantasy football lineups. He finished as the overall TE1 last week and could see additional targets against the Rams. Deebo Samuel is out with an injury, so Kittle should be busy this week.

#5 - Trey McBride

Trey McBride is another elite option in Week 3 following his two strong performances to open the 2024 season. He has finished as the TE2 and TE11, totaling 11 receptions on 15 targets for 97 yards. He clearly appears to be a focal point of the Cardinals' passing game.
