Eli Manning is one of the best players to ever suit up for the New York Giants. The retired quarterback was a favorite for many Giants fans during his illustrious NFL career.

During a recent tailgate party, a longtime Giants fan said that the two-time Super Bowl-winning signal-caller was his favorite player. Manning surprised the fan by joining him and other Giants fans during the tailgate party. The former NFL quarterback even signed someone's forehead, getting into the spirit of things.

The Giants traded with the San Diego Chargers for the Ole Miss quarterback in the 2004 NFL Draft. He was drafted first overall by the Chargers but ultimately ended up with the Giants, who drafted quarterback Philip Rivers. Manning didn't become a full-time starter for the franchise until the 2005-2006 season after starting seven games in his rookie campaign.

In his fourth season in the NFL, the quarterback led the Giants to their third Super Bowl win in franchise history over the New England Patriots. Manning was the Super Bowl MVP, throwing for 255 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He made his first career Pro Bowl in the 2008-2009 season after throwing for 3,238 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Eli Manning once again faced the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 46, coming out on top once again. In both instances, Manning defeated quarterback Tom Brady. In the playoffs, Manning threw for 2,815 yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his career.

On Jan. 24, 2020, Eli Manning retired from the NFL after 16 seasons, all with the New York Giants. He retired as the franchise's all-time leader in passing yards (57,023 yards) and touchdowns (366). The quarterback has played the most games in franchise history (366).

Only Manning and Phil Simms have won multiple Super Bowls as quarterbacks in team history. Simms led the Giants to wins in Super Bowls 21 and 25. For Manning, he'll go down as one of the best quarterbacks for the Giants and in NFL history.
