DK Metcalf has proven himself to be one of the NFL's most explosive and physical wide receivers. The play of the 6-foot-4, 225-pound wideout is not all that surprising, given how he jumped off the charts in college. Metcalf played for Ole Miss, where he became one of the best to ever suit up for the university.

He was given a medical redshirt in his 2016 freshman season by the NCAA. He had touchdowns in each of his first two college games that season. Metcalf's redshirt freshman was one of the best in college football the following season. The wideout played in all 12 games, getting 39 receptions, 646 yards and seven touchdowns.

Against the California Golden Bears, DK Metcalf had three receptions for 125 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown reception. The wideout had another 100-yard effort versus Arkansas, where he had four catches for 107 yards.

He also had multiple two-touchdown games, one against Auburn and the other against Kentucky. Metcalf finished third on the team in yards and tied for second in touchdowns in the 2017 season. The stellar receiver played one final season with Ole Miss.

Metcalf started the first seven games of his sophomore season. However, he suffered a season-ending neck injury against Arkansas.

He was ranked fourth in the SEC with five receiving TDs and third in the conference in receiving yards prior to his injury. His 14-career touchdown receptions are the ninth-most all-time in Ole Miss football history. DK Metcalf decided to take his talents to the next level and into the 2019 NFL Draft.


DK Metcalf heads west to begin his NFL journey

Metcalf was taken by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2019 draft and made an immediate impact in his rookie season. He caught 58 receptions for 900 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2019 NFL season. He finished second on the Seahawks roster in all three categories that season.

In the 2020 season, Metcalf made his first-ever Pro Bowl after having 83 receptions, 1,303 yards, and 10 touchdowns. The former Ole Miss star found himself in the top 10 in the league for touchdowns and yards in his second season.

He completed his fourth season with Seattle and is already in the top 10 in the Seahawks' franchise history in career yards, receptions and touchdowns. Without question, Metcalf is already making the same impact for the Seahawks that he did with Ole Miss. This means he is on pace to become an all-time great.
