Jared Goff or Marcus Mariota: Who is a good pick?

In Detroit Lions' 24-6 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Jared Goff made 21 of 26 attempts for 228 yards. He had two interceptions while rushing only once for four yards and losing two fumbles.

After having a strong first four contests of the campaign, Goff has put together a string of subpar displays, amassing six turnovers in his previous two contests. In a Week 8 home game against the Miami Dolphins, the seasoned quarterback will try to turn around the attack.

Unfortunately, for this upcoming game, Goff won't be easy to rely on for anything more than a limited QB2.

Despite this, Jared Goff is considered a stronger selection than Marcus Mariota for Week 8. Desmond Ridder, a third-round draft pick, and Mariota are vying to succeed Matt Ryan as the Atlanta Falcons' starting quarterback.

In the 35-17 defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7, Mariota attempted just 13 passes. Only eight of the experienced quarterback's 124 passing attempts were successful, a season-low.

In addition to that, the former second-round choice in the draft only managed six rushes for 31 yards during the contest.

Mariota's two-game string of scoring 18 or more fantasy points was broken with his disappointing 12.1-point performance against the Bengals. The seasoned quarterback will face the Carolina Panthers the following week.

He may get back on track in that game. However, in Week 7, their defense limited Tom Brady to 11.7 fantasy points and no touchdowns.

Will Jared Goff start in Week 8?

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions suffered their fourth successive defeat and they have scored just six points over the previous two games. With two interceptions and two fumbles lost versus Dallas, former No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff was disappointing to watch.

However, Dan Campbell is yet to indicate that he's prepared to sit Jared Goff out this week since Nate Sudfeld is an inexperienced replacement.

Will Marcus Mariota start in Week 8?

Marcus Mariota of Atlanta hasn't passed for more than 229 yards in a match, or more than 150 in the previous three. But that's largely so because the Falcons are a side that emphasizes the run.

They may ultimately have a solid cause to drop Mariota: to observe Desmond Ridder, a third-round journeyman. He played for the University of Cincinnati and was one of the most successful quarterbacks in FBS history.

Marcus Mariota didn't play well in the last match, but in the two matches before the one against the Bengals, he scored 42 fantasy points. However, against a Panthers team that ranks 11th when facing fantasy quarterbacks, Mariota is a limited QB2 option.

For the Falcons' passing offense, which is essentially nonexistent, Marcus Mariota has been seen as a problem. Desmond Ridder is being pushed as a Mariota replacement, but that will only happen if the Falcons lose ground in the rankings.
