Washington Commanders fans had reasons to be worried after rookie sensation Jayden Daniels left the game with a rib injury on Sunday. The quarterback tried to return to the game after going to the blue tent to see the medical staff but was unable to make it back.

His mother shared an update on his situation, saying he was 'fine,' but that was only the beginning of this story. Despite Marcus Mariota leading the team to a 40-7 win over the Carolina Panthers, Daniels' health is a source of concern given the type of performances he was giving to fans.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Daniels underwent tests on Monday and will be monitored for the rest of the week.

"Commanders QB Jayden Daniels underwent tests today and will continue to be monitored throughout this week before the team decides if he can play Sunday vs the Bears. Team is labeling him as “week to week” but it’s all truly “wait and see” with this injury."

The Bears aren't the most competitive team but have found consistency in recent weeks. The offense is clicking, and Caleb Williams went off on the Jaguars in Week 6, throwing four touchdowns in the 35-16 Bears win.

As for Daniels, he only attempted two passes against the Panthers, completing both for six yards.

Jayden Daniels, Commanders are one of the biggest stories this season

Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders entered this season looking like a team with potential. However, after seven weeks, they're a reality and one of the biggest surprises in the competitive NFC. The former LSU star took the league by storm despite losing his first game against Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

They won four consecutive games after that until Super Bowl contenders Baltimore Ravens beat them 30-23 in Week 6. They bounced back with the humbling win over the Panthers to improve to 5-2 for the season. Washington leads the NFC East standings over the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2), Dallas Cowboys (3-3) and New York Giants (2-5), respectively.

If Daniels returns soon, their playoff hopes will remain intact, but losing him would be a major blow. Marcus Mariota has a lot of experience, but Daniels is a dynamic quarterback who can create a lot of problems for opposing defenses.
