Jets insider explains lack of leaks around Aaron Rodgers’ Jets situation

Aaron Rodgers' move to the Jets will likely happen at some point this offseason, but the deal isn't quite in place. There have been reports that neither the Packers nor the Jets have reached an agreement for the four-time NFL MVP.

Jets insider Brian Costello explained on the "Up and Adams" show why there have been leaks regarding Rodgers to the Jets.

"The Packers aren't saying anything, so that's why you're not seeing a lot of leaks about what's happening because everyone's scared of him."

Costello added:

"It's not an easy trade, right? It's not, this is not simple. First of all, his contract is very complicated. He's getting paid 59 million in 2023. Now the way that works is you can convert that into a bonus by September and that, that bonus then lowers the cap number to 15 million."
"The Packers probably also want it because it leaves them with a whole lot of dead money. So there's a lot of contract machinations that have to happen here and no one's really talking. I don't think anyone really wants to piss off Aaron Rodgers."

Aaron Rodgers has been linked with the New York Jets for some time as 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers are winding down. The four-time All-Pro reportedly has a wishlist of players he'd like to join him up in New York.

Who does Aaron Rodgers want with him in New York?

As stated by ESPN NFL insider Dianna Russini, the quarterback has a wishlist of players he would like to play with. Some of these players include former Packers teammates Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, and Marcede Lewis along with free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

If the Jets' front office wants to pursue any of these players, the nearly $60 million owed to Aarpm Rodgers might have to be reworked. First things first on when the Jets acquire Rodgers and see what happens from there.
