“You’re not wanted there” – Aaron Rodgers cast away by Packers, Shannon Sharpe claims

As Aaron Rodgers remains undecided about his NFL future, it seems as if the Green Bay Packers and other teams are becoming more and more frustrated with his situation. The legal tampering period for the new league year just began moments ago, and Rodgers is holding up multiple teams' off-season plans.

While the Jets are ready to pull the trigger on making a trade for Rodgers, he's the one holding it up as he's still deciding whether or not he wants to return to Green Bay, be traded, or retire.

Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless discussed more about the Aaron Rodgers-Jets-Packers situation this morning on "Undisputed." Sharpe claimed Rodgers is not wanted in Green Bay.

Sharpe said:

"He's not wanted in Green Bay, and they've made it abundantly clear. The loneliest place in the world is not alone. It's being some place you're not wanted."

Sharpe added that the Jets want him, unlike the Packers.

He continued:

"Clearly, the Jets want you. They got on a plane, flew to Malibu, somehwere from New York, five-plus hours on a private Jet, and met with Aaron Rodgers. The Jets did what Green Bay did a few years ago, when they really wanted Aaron Rodgers.

"Now, they don't really want Aaron Rodgers. It's kind of like the flowers have started. I ain't taking you to the movies no more with me, we not going out to dinner, we not going on vacation, somebody else is doing that for you. That's the Jets. Green Bay said, 'Nah, we good. Go and take your services over there.'"

A Jets-Aaron Rodgers trade may look different than some expect.

While the Jets have said they'd happily give up two first-round picks for Rodgers, they may not have to give up that much for Rodgers.

According to former NFL general manager Matt Lombardi, the Packers are seeking one first-round pick with a conditional pick if he plays beyond the 2023-2024 season.

Lombardi said:

"The Packers were looking for a (first-round pick), and they want something else if he plays longer. Now, I think what that means is we want your one. But if he plays two years, we want a three, or we want a two. We want a conditional pick to go along with what we have."

The Jets could offer the Packers a first-round pick in this year's draft and second or third-round pick next year if he plays another season.

The ball is in Rodgers' court, and it's up to him to make a decision before it's too late and the Jets decide to move forward without him.
