Justin Fields' was counted out by fans, critics, and even casuals at the beginning of the 2022 NFL season. Many labeled him a bust and said that the Chicago Bears would be in trouble if Fields was their great quarterback hope. Well, it's fair to say that his detractors are eating their words.

Justin Fields has been one of the breakout players of the 2022 NFL season. Yes, the Chicago Bears are losing a lot of games and will likely get yet another high draft pick. Without Fields, though, they would likely be battling for the first-overall pick in 2023.

Unfortunately, Fields' progress seems to have been put on hold as the second-year QB suffered a shoulder injury Sunday. Coach Matt Eberflus said Fields is "day to day" but didn't rule out the possibility that the injury might be season-ending.

There will likely be more news available on Wednesday, but with the Bears at 3-8, it seems unlikely they'll risk Fields if he isn't healthy. Fields has been running the ball a lot lately, and while this helps the team, they put the quarterback in significant danger.

It is very unlikely that Justin Fields will take the field in Week 12. The injury he sustained is a bad one, and it is known to affect the mobility of players. Worse still, most of Fields' present-day ability is pegged down to his mobility. Fields might be a fascinating prospect, but he won't impact a football game much without being able to run the ball.

His injury might be labeled as day-to-day, but playing in the Chicago Bears' matchup against the New York Jets seems unlikely. So instead, he'll likely remain on the sidelines as the Bears look to preserve his budding career.

Big props must go to Justin Fields for playing through the pain in the Bears' loss last Sunday. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that the fourth-best fantasy quarterback will suit up over the next few weeks.

Before suffering this shoulder injury, Fields was on pace to break the all-time quarterback rushing yards record and several other notable stats. However, this injury puts all that in jeopardy, as there's a possibility that we've seen him on the pitch for the last time this season.

On a positive note, Fields has complied a solid stat sheet in the 2022 season. He has thrown for 1,642 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while also rushing for 834 yards and seven touchdowns.
