One of the NFL's top draft prospects this year may have tainted his career before it has even begun. On January 15 of this year, tragedy struck the Georgia Bulldogs football team when a car accident killed offensive guard Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy. Recently, bodycam video emerged of police questioning their teammate, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, on what happened during the incident. Around the 5:48 mark, Carter was asked whether he and his colleagues were racing, and he denied it:Many were enraged at his nonchalance:Mr. Roseman draft Bresee and Branch@DaBurner42069@ProFootballTalk thug3@ProFootballTalk thug@ MassLeafsfan@JackCan51593007@ProFootballTalk Low character high performance individual. Instead, he will have to serve 12 months of probation, pay a $1,000 fine, perform 80 hours of community service, and pass a state-approved defensive driving course.Where was Jalen Carter projected to fall in the 2023 NFL Draft? Before he was charged with the crime, Jalen Carter was projected to be a top-5 pick. He broke out in his sophomore season, where he recorded 37 tackles (17 solo), more than twice his rookie output; and 3 sacks.Having won the collegiate title in 2021, Carter won another in 2022 as he recorded 32 tackles (16 solo) and 3 sacks. After winning his second college title, he declared for the draft, where the Detroit Lions emerged as the front runners to select him.But with the issues concerning his behavior, it is highly likely that teams will pass on him, at least in the first round. And that is not to mention his struggles during a school-sponsored event in the middle of last month, where he showed up 9 lbs heavy and failed to complete his drills.
