Latest on Deebo Samuel's injury status for Week 8 Fantasy Football

The San Francisco 49ers' worries were heightened when wide receiver Deebo Samuel was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night after being suspected of having pneumonia. Samuel did not participate in the Niners' Wednesday practice, despite reports that he was released from the hospital on Tuesday.

On Thursday, he returned to the practice field, albeit in a limited capacity. It was somewhat unexpected when Samuel returned to practice, considering that he had only been released from the hospital the day before.

Following Samuel's absence from practice on Wednesday, coach Kyle Shanahan spoke on the matter, saying that while the wide receiver was admitted to the hospital, he has since been discharged and may return for this Sunday's Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The San Francisco 49ers have had troubles with injuries this season. The team's offense was further weakened last weekend when wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk sustained a knee injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

With Aiyuk out, it will be even more devastating for the team not to have Deebo Samuel available going forward. That being said, it's encouraging that Samuel practiced at all on Thursday. He will get a chance to play against Dallas on Sunday at Levi's Stadium if he feels well enough.

The veteran wideout reportedly went to the hospital to receive treatment for pneumonia-related symptoms after doctors discovered fluid in his lungs.
