Texas A&M prides itself on having a high-quality football program that regularly sends star players to the NFL.

The Aggies are defensive specialists with both Von Miller and Myles Garrett breaking into the league after amazing college careers in Texas. Miller and Garrett are now considered to be amongst the best players from Texas A&M to ever make it onto the big stage.

Meanwhile, Mike Evans stands as one of the greatest wide receivers in the league in 2022, and he was once an Aggie as well. While their excellent recruiting and production hasn’t necessarily translated to team success, Texas A&M still has three national championships to its name.

Currently, 33 of their alumni are playing in the NFL, and they have all reached different heights.

Who can be considered the top 10 NFL players from Texas A&M in 2022?

#1 Myles Garrett, DE, Cleveland Browns

Myles Garrett is easily one of the top 10 NFL players from Texas A&M. Not only that, he’s also close to being among the top 10 players in the league right now.

Having been drafted first-overall by the Cleveland Browns, Garrett has lived up to his immense potential. He is now the premier pass-rusher in the NFL and could break the league sacks record by the time he retires.

Garrett has already smashed a few records in the NFL and is the Browns’ all-time sack leader.

The scary thing is that he has repeatedly gotten better, as evidenced by his displays this season. The Browns' defensive end already has five sacks in five games in 2022 and is coming off a career year in which he registered 16 sacks.

It hasn’t all been plain sailing for the former Aggie, though. He was suspended in 2019 for hitting Mason Rudolph with his helmet and missed six games. However, at the moment, he is one of the league's premier players.

#2 Von Miller, LB, Buffalo Bills

Von Miller paved the way in the NFL for Myles Garrett. Whilst being characterized as a linebacker, Miller has been a virtually dominant edge rusher since being drafted by the Denver Broncos.

He’s an eight-time Pro Bowler and has received first-team All-Pro honors on three occasions. The 33-year-old is one of the greatest to ever play defense in NFL history and enjoyed a superb college stint with Texas A&M as well.

In 142 regular-season games with Denver, the former Aggie registered 110.5 sacks. He has also won two championships and was crowned the MVP in Super Bowl 50.

As of October 2022, Miller, now with the Buffalo Bills, leads the NFL’s active roster in sacks with 121.5.

#3 Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans was stranded on poor Tampa Bay Buccaneers teams for years. His accomplishments despite that being the case suggest that he is one of the top 10 NFL players from Texas A&M.

Since Tom Brady’s arrival in Tampa, Evans has won a championship and taken his own game to new heights. He is the most accomplished offensive player in Buccaneers history with 9,546 yards from scrimmage, which broke the previous record set by James Wilder.

Evans leads the Bucs in career receptions and touchdowns as well. He is also the only player in NFL history to start his professional career with eight successive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards.

#4 Jake Matthews, OT, Atlanta Falcons

Jake Matthews easily makes this list having impressed in the NFL since making the transition over from Texas A&M.

Having struggled initially after being drafted as high as sixth overall, Matthews has enjoyed a brilliant NFL career. He made the Pro Bowl in 2018 and has been virtually ever-present for the Atlanta Falcons over the course of his nine-year career.

Prior to the start of the 2022 season, Matthews had started a staggering 127 successive games. He is considered the ultimate professional and has been an NFL player the Aggies can be proud of.

#5 Ryan Tannehill, QB, Tennessee Titans

Ryan Tannehill’s career resurgence since joining the Tennessee Titans has been remarkable.

At the end of his Miami Dolphins stint, many doubted if the Texas A&M product would be able deliver at the highest level. Tannehill’s struggles in Miami highlighted the difficult transition from being a star QB in college to playing on a struggling NFL team.

However, his stint in Tennessee has changed his career trajectory for the better. In 2020, he set a Titans franchise record for combined touchdowns with 40. He has also won two successive AFC South division titles.

Playing behind such a good running offense has allowed him to thrive, but to his credit, he has often picked the perfect passes.

#6 Christian Kirk, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Whilst Christian Kirk’s post-Texas A&M career has been a slow-burner, the wide receiver is now well on his way to fulfilling his potential.

After six games in the 2022 season, Kirk has 25 catches for 362 yards. He has already scored four touchdowns for a resurgent Jacksonville Jaguars offense.

This has been an explosive start to the year for Kirk, something he hasn’t accomplished previously. He is on pace to have a career year in every receiving category, and is currently one of the most in-form players in the position.

#7 Randy Bullock, K, Tennessee Titans

It isn’t the most fashionable position on the field, but you can’t not include Randy Bullock in a lit of the top 10 NFL players from Texas A&M.

Over the span of his 10-year career in the league, Bullock has been one of the most reliable kickers. His lowest ever conversion percentage for field goals was 74.3% as a rookie. It has never dipped below 80% since then.

Bullock was a record-breaking kicker with Texas A&M, and has made 83.2% of his field goals in the NFL, with the longest measuring an excellent 57 yards.

#8 Jermaine Eluemunor, OT, Las Vegas Raiders

It has taken Jermaine Eluemunor a few years to adapt to the NFL since making the move over from Texas A&M.

He was drafted in the fifth round by the Baltimore Ravens in 2017. He then spent time with the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars before signing with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021.

He has found stability and a home in Sin City and his game at RT has improved dramatically. The London-born Eluemunor is now a key starter for the Raiders and has offered plenty of protection for quarterback Derek Carr.

His career has been a tale of perseverance and he is reaping the rewards in 2022. Eluemenor is easily among the top 10 NFL players from Texas A&M and has enjoyed a superb start to the ongoing season.

#9 Erik McCoy, C, New Orleans Saints

Erik McCoy has been excellent for the New Orleans Saints since being drafted in round two of the 2019 draft.

Whilst centers struggle to pass the eye-test of evaluation, statistics show what a stud the former Aggie has been. He is easily among the top currently active 10 NFL players to have arrived from Texas A&M.

Since 2019, the Saints have allowed just 91 sacks, which was the sixth-lowest in the league across that time period. McCoy has been a valuable contributor on that end as he blocks well and protects the QB in addition to providing reliable snaps.

He received All-Rookie honors in 2019 and his 2022 form has been splendid as well. McCoy has now allowed a single sack in the Raiders' opening six games. He has proven to be worth every cent of his five-year, $60 million contract so far.

#10 Kenyon Green, G, Houston Texans

Kenyon Green is one of the newest Texas A&M graduates to be drafted into the NFL. He didn’t have to relocate to someplace far as the Houston Texans picked him in the first round of the 2022 draft.

Green is an all-purpose lineman, able to thrive at either guard or tackle and his physical, bull-like style has been compared to Richie Incognito. His potential ceiling is excitingly high and his immediate displays in the league have also been fantastic.

In six NFL games and 274 offensive snaps, he has allowed just one sack and been guilty of only three penalties.
