Micah Parsons has been in the spotlight for the Dallas Cowboys ahead of their Week 8 clash against the San Francisco 49ers. The linebacker has been nursing a high ankle sprain, and fans want to know his status for Sunday's game.

As things stand, Micah Parsons is questionable to play against the 49ers on Sunday. The Cowboys linebacker did not participate in Wednesday's practice session.

Since Parsons is still not cleared to train with the team, fantasy managers should avoid picking the Cowboys star until he is given the green light to play this weekend.

Nonetheless, Parsons said on Wednesday he was optimistic he'd recover in time to play against the 49ers.

"My hopes are always very high,” Parsons said about his chances of playing in Week 8. “I love great challenges. I love being able to beat the odds. I’m going to put this up to my trainers and my coaching staff.”

Parsons suffered his ankle injury in Week 4 against the New York Giants. He attempted to tackle Giants quarterback Daniel Jones in the fourth quarter but injured himself and needed to be carted off the field.

Due to the high ankle sprain, Parsons missed the Week 5 clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys had a bye in Week 7, but despite a week's break, their star linebacker still hasn't recovered to get involved in practice.

The Cowboys will host two more practice sessions on Thursday and Friday before making the trip to San Francisco. Fantasy managers can monitor Parsons' progress closely by checking Dallas' injury report before making a final decision on the three-time Pro Bowler.
