Dallas Cowboys v Tennessee Titans

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Tennessee Titans 27-13 and improved to a 12-4 on Thursday night. The team has won six of their previous seven games and has kept the pressure over the Philadelphia Eagles in the fight for the NFC East title, although their chances remain slim.

But there's been one concerning trend over the Cowboys in recent weeks. Dak Prescott now leads the league with 14 interceptions in just 11 games, with 10 in his last six appearances. We all know how much turnovers can hurt a team, and this might be the Cowboys' downfall should Prescott remain careless with the ball during the playoffs.

There's no denying that the Cowboys are scoring a lot of points against bad teams - and a banged-up Eagles' defense, for good measure. They're definitely a good team passing the ball, but they need to clean their house before the playoffs.

Prescott leads the league in interceptions with 14. He's tied with Derek Carr, who just got benched for the season with the Las Vegas Raiders. The caveat is that Carr has played in five more games this season. The Raiders aren't thinking about the playoffs anymore - Carr's benching had much to do with preventing him from getting hurt and not fully guaranteeing his salary for next year. Prescott, however, is a franchise quarterback for a team heading into the playoffs.

Looking at the NFC Playoff Picture, things can get really dangerous. A healthy Philadelphia Eagles are going to be a significant challenge. The San Francisco 49ers have the best defense in the league. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers can keep things close and score enough to upset them. While the Minnesota Vikings always find a way to win one-possession games.

The Cowboys are one hell of a team, but Prescott needs to clean things up before the postseason starts. Otherwise, this will be another year with major playoff hopes and a huge disappointment when January comes. Nothing hurts a football team more than turnovers, and Dallas is playing with fire right now.

Prescott has played in four playoff games. He threw interceptions in three of them and is 1-3 in the playoffs.

Dak knows this. If he doesn't change, Dallas' playoff hopes won't go far.
