Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has opened up about the possibility of representing Team USA at the 2028 Olympics. The flag football event will debut at the next Summer Olympics, and Allen is eager to seize the opportunity to be part of history with his country.
During a press conference Tuesday, Allen revealed his true feelings about playing flag football at the 2028 Olympics.
"I’m not going to disrespect the guys that are playing flag football right now, but if there was an opportunity for me to try, I would absolutely love to,” Allen said.

“I’ve always wanted to compete for my country. Every time the Olympics are on, I'm tuned into the screen. But I think there's really no greater honor to do that. That'd be really cool. But I guess we'll find out."

Allen's comments about wanting to play at the 2028 Olympics come just two weeks after Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes announced he won’t represent Team USA at the flag football event.
"I'll probably leave that to the younger guys," Mahomes said during the Chiefs' OTAs. "I'll be a little older by the time that comes around. It's awesome. Honestly, just to be able to showcase the NFL to the whole world through flag football."
Last month, NFL owners approved a proposal allowing one player per team to play for Team USA. They also approved each team’s designated international player to represent his home country at the Olympics.
Josh Allen won his first MVP award in 2024 NFL season

Josh Allen enjoyed a fabulous 2024 season, capping it off by winning his first MVP award. The Bills quarterback recorded 3,731 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, six interceptions and 12 rushing TDs to lead the team to the AFC East title.
In the playoffs, Allen posted 636 passing yards, four touchdowns and two rushing TDs as the Bills advanced to the AFC championship game, where they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Although Allen was delighted with his first MVP award, the three-time Pro Bowler will want to make further history and lead Buffalo to its first Super Bowl title.
