49ers TE George Kittle expresses his disappointment from devastating loss in NFC Championship Game against Eagles - “Sh*t happens”

George Kittle was quite upset by loss in NFC Championship Game vs. Eagles

Last season, George Kittle and the San Francisco 49ers' season ended in heartbreaking fashion, as has become the norm. The NFC West champions basically played without a quarterback for the majority of the game against the Philadelphia Eagles after both Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson got hurt.

The Eagles were easily able to defeat the 49ers in that game, but prior to that game, many believed that Kittle and Co. could have overcome the eventual NFC champions.

Many 49ers players have expressed their disappointment since losing in the NFC Championship Game, and recently George Kittle also spoke about it. Here's what Kittle said on the Pat McAfee Show:

"I will say this like, what's fun after the game I had like people telling me that hey, one you didn't show up on the stat sheet. I was like, I wonder why we couldn't throw a football."
"Secondly, they're like, 'Hey, you just need to work harder next year', 'I'm like, this has nothing to do with working hard, man. This is just severe unluckiness, because I mean, our team were primed."
"We were prepped, we were like, we were ready to roll ready to hit people and then it's just sh*t happens. Life is really hard sometimes and hey, how are you gonna bounce back?"
"Am I gonna let that be a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of my seat like for the rest of the year? No, I mean, it took me like a month I flush it. I'm good, I'm excited, I'm healthy, ready to roll again hit people in the face..."

While Kittle has moved on from the sting of that loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Francisco 49ers still have many unanswered questions. Brock Purdy is still healing from an elbow injury suffered in the NFC Championship Game, and his comeback before the start of the following season is uncertain.

Trey Lance and Sam Darnold will also be considered, but Kyle Shanahan, who didn't have a single quarterback to play against the Eagles, may now have to choose between the three quarterbacks next season.
