Tom Brady is set to appear in a pretty big-budget movie in which he is the central focus.
Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field and Rita Moreno star as four elderly women who are massive fans of the legendary quarterback in New England. They also fancy Rob Gronkowski, too.
The movie is being produced by Paramount.
Is 80 for Brady a true story?
This movie aims to tell the story of the women who decided to make a long road trip to the Super Bowl to see their favorite player in what they thought might be his final chance to win the big game.
At the time, they didn't know how much longer he had left to play. As one of the ladies mentions in the trailer:
"This could be Tom's last run, he's almost 40! That's like 80 in people years!"
The women decided to shake up their lives and go see the Patriots play in the Super Bowl, making a cross-country road trip and attempting to work their way into the big game by any means necessary.
The actresses for 80 for Brady love the quarterback
According to People magazine, the actresses set to star alongside the legendary quarterback are fans of his. Fonda admitted that she was more of a baseball fan, but liked Brady:
"He was so sweet and generous and, could it be possible — humble?"
Tomlin mentioned he felt like a son:
"He looks like a big, beautiful 20-year-old whom I'm going to see play homecoming in his sophomore year. He's actually 40ish, which is a bit mind-boggling; he's the quarterback, and he is my son."
She also said:
"He has an incredibly sweet nature. He's sensitive and tries to make people comfortable."
Brady even admitted that this would be an interesting challenge for him:
"Because you're always paying attention to yourself as yourself rather than the character you're playing. I don't think that's natural for me. What I've done for 23 years in sports is play myself. There's no acting. It's me on the field. When I'm pissed, I'm pissed. When I'm happy, I'm happy. I'm not playing a role."
The movie will debut in theaters February 3, right around the Super Bowl, ironically.
