Aaron Rodgers recently made headlines for his comments on Jimmy Kimmel. Due to this, many believed that his weekly appearances on the Pat McAfee Show could get limited as ESPN would love to avoid creating controversies on their network.

Since the Jets' season is over, Rodgers is taking a short break from McAfee's show and might return after the playoffs.

Amid all the controversy surrounding the four-time NFL MVP, one of his former teammate Greg Jennings spoke about him on First Things First and expressed how he felt about his former quarterback.

He said:

"When you listen to Aaron Rodgers, he has it figured out for everyone, but himself, because he believes that he is. He's figured it out for himself and it's like, dude, you really haven't."

Jennings later mentioned how Aaron Rodgers' actions during his last year with the Packers showed who the quarterback was as a person. He added:

"I really try to hold back on having this conversation about Aaron, because of the way I exited Green Bay and the things that I said, but I will say this, you find out who a person is when they show you who they are."
"He showed me who he was and so from that moment, everything that happened prior to I looked at differently, everything that happened afterward, I looked at differently, because now I know who you are, you were selfish."

Greg Jennings said that during a timeout in a game against the San Francisco 49ers, Rodgers asked the opposition players to get Jennings from the Packers. The Super Bowl-winning wide receiver was in the last year of his contract with the NFC North franchise and ultimately left the team.

During his tenure with the Packers, he played with both Rodgers and Brett Favre. He had 425 receptions for 6,537 yards and scored 53 touchdowns in 96 games for the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers needs to have a successful season with Jets in 2024

With all the drama surrounding him this past season, Aaron Rodgers needs to deliver for the New York Jets next season. The NFC East franchise finished with a record of 7-10 and it was a very disappointing season for them.

They are expected to trade Zach Wilson after the Super Bowl, and with Rodgers healthy, they'll be a Super Bowl contender once again next season. However, before that, the franchise needs to make some moves to improve the roster.

Rodgers is already 40 years old and like Tom Brady, he'll require a solid offensive line to work with. The Jets have the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and it will be interesting to see if they can land Joe Alt or Olumuyiwa Fashanu with that pick.
