"They have no shot" - Aaron Rodgers' 'overrated' Packers are down and out, NFL analyst claims

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are presently having a 2022-2023 season to forget. The Packers suffered their fourth straight loss in Week 8 to the Buffalo Bills.

With the Packers sitting with a 3-5 record, NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky took the four-time NFL MVP and the Packers to task over their performance. He declared that the season is already over for them.

"I want to make something very clear because people keep taking shots at me about the Packers. I was also the person who said leading up to the draft, they were the one team that needed to go up in that draft for a wide receiver. They chose not to. They took two defensive players, first-round picks. So at that moment, my mind transitions to what style of football they're going to play.
"Now, do I think it's going to make a difference for them making a run? No, they have no shot of making a run, although they make enough of them."

Orlovsky added:

"I think the reality is this. This defense right now in Green Bay has nine guys that were first or second-round picks. That defense has played 3000 snaps this year, including 5/1 and second-round picks. So part of me sits there and goes, well, they're talented enough on defense to sit there and go if they play a little bit better and play a little bit, scheme different and allow those guys talent to shine, that that defense is going to get better."

The former NFL quarterback concluded by saying:

"Right now, their offense is so overrated as a roster, it's overrated as a roster. Christian Watson can't get on the field. Romeo Doubs, he has moments, you know but they're not dominant moments. Their playmaker, there's no intermediate pass game in this offense. Aaron Rodgers, in the last five weeks, has ten completions that are of the intermediate distance."

Are Aaron Rodgers and the Packers done?

As mentioned earlier, the Packers are on a four-game losing streak. The last time a Rodgers-led Packers team lost four games in a row was back in the 2016 -2017 season. That season, Green Bay finished with a record of 10-6, winning six straight games to end the season. Right now, all is not lost for Rodgers and the Packers.

A major reason why the team is struggling is injuries at the wide receiver position. Veteran wideouts Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, along with rookie Christian Watson, have all missed time this season.

Lazard is currently out with a shoulder injury, while Watson suffered a concussion in the loss to the Bills. Cobb was recently put on injured reserve because of an ankle injury.

So far this season, Rodgers has thrown for 1,800 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. However, the team is currently 26th in the NFL in points per game with 18.1 points. It remains to be seen if the four-time All-Pro quarterback can avoid a fifth straight loss as Green Bay faces the Detroit Lions in Week 9.
