Aaron Rodgers tells NFL to ‘put their money where their mouth is’ in latest push for grass fields across the league

Aaron Rodgers urges the league for grass fields

Recently, Aaron Rodgers has spoken up in favor of making grass fields mandatory across the NFL. Rodgers doesn't want to see more players getting injured while playing on artificial turf and due to that he is in major support of the NFLPA in order to make this change.

Over the years, many players have sustained horrific non-contact injuries while playing on artificial turf. The Packers quarterback believes it's time for the NFL to think about player safety and act.

In the build-up to their Thursday night game against the Tennessee Titans, Aaron Rodgers said the following:

"No, honestly, I don't have a lot of confidence when it comes to the league making that decision without some sort of big vote and gripes from certain owners who don't want to spend the money,"

Rodgers wasn't in favor of making the teams play 17 regular season games instead of 16 but he thinks this time around the situation is quite different. He added:

"This to me is player safety, [Expanding to 17 games] was about monetary gains, so this would be putting your money where your mouth is if player safety is important."

He continued:

"I do think it's time to go all grass throughout the league, I think you would see less of these noncontact injuries that we see on some of the surfaces, and I think that it'd be a good step in the right direction towards player safety to make the requirement for every field to be grass."

During last season's Super Bowl, we saw Odell Beckham Jr. getting injured without any contact on artificial turf. Injuries like these can be avoided by the league. Hopefully, the league, along with the owners of the teams, will elect to play on natural grass instead of artificial turf.

The Green Bay Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, finally snapped their losing streak as they defeated the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10. Rodgers was phenomenal in this game, and he played a massive role in keeping the season alive for the Packers.

The Packers quarterback threw three touchdowns against the Cowboys and will hope to continue this form going forward. The Packers are still in the mix for the playoffs and it will be interesting to see if they continue to play as they did against the Cowboys.
