Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was once again the focus of all sports broadcasts on Friday morning. On the "Foxworth Friday" episode of the "Right Time With Bomani Jones" podcast, Bomani Jones and Domonique Foxworth discussed the quarterback's current situation. Jones and Foxworth agreed that when the Packers extended his contract, they knew what they were getting themselves into.

Jones and Foxworth then discussed the situation, saying that no matter what decision the quarterback makes, the Packers will listen to him and honor his wishes. They will allow Rodgers to be traded, as they did with Brett Favre.

According to Jones, while the New York Jets are an option for Rodgers and may be a good fit, he will not have the same audience as he does now. That is, all of the strategies he has used in the past to address his future will not entertain the New York fan base and media.

"You can’t do the same stuff he was doing in Green Bay in New York, like you can, you're allowed, but ain't nobody gonna be playing along. You'll also be playing for what is perceived as the clown show team, like the Giants ain't got no room to say nothing about the Jets over the last 10 years or so.
But in terms of the way like when something goes bad for the Jets, it's their go the Jets. Again, that's not the way that is looked at with the Giants, right? It's the same way with the Yankees and the Mets. So if you come in here, you talk about craziness. And y'all ain't really getting it done with a roster by the way that we all believe as a quarterback away, right?"- Bomani Jones

Jones said the New York Jets, much like the New York Mets, aren't the main team in the New York sports world. The Jets are seen as a team who can't get it done and hasn't had success. Jones then said that Aaron Rodgers also won't be the only answer to their problem, and that the roster needs some work if they plan on going the distance.

QB Aaron Rodgers to the Seattle Seahawks?

Everyone now knows that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has emerged from his time. Now, the Green Bay Packers and the 39 year old quarterback will meet to discuss what is next. He will either decide to continue playing football and do so in Green Bay or he will ask for a trade.

While the New York Jets have been at the center of possible destinations for the Packers quarterback, there may be another contender. According to Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano, the Seattle Seahawks may be a good trade destination for the quarterback. But why after the success that Geno Smith had in 2022?

Manzano said that Seattle's receiving core is much more experienced than the young receivers that he played with in Green Bay last season. He also said that Seattle has the ability to pull off a trade with draft picks and salary cap space to pay the quarterback.

“The Seahawks have plenty to offer with a talented roster and they have the cap space and draft picks to execute a blockbuster trade,” Manzano said.
“Finding quality receivers was an issue in Green Bay. That wouldn’t be the case in Seattle with the receiving tandem of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Rodgers would also have a balanced attack with running back Kenneth Walker, who’s coming off a sensational rookie season.”

Whether Rodgers decides to stay with the Green Bay Packers or play somewhere else is what fans will be sitting on the edge of their seats to hear.
