Kelee Ringo is one of the top cornerback prospects ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was the top coverage player for the Georgia Bulldogs, who had one of the most dominant defensive units in the entire country.

His contributions on the field helped the Bulldogs win two consecutive College Football Playoffs National Championship games. Kelee Ringo is now projected to be selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

According to Jon Mochota of "The Athletic," the Cowboys have expressed interest in drafting Ringo. They reportedly met with the cornerback during the 2023 NFL Combine. The Cowboys have likely made selecting Ringo a top priority in the draft.

The Cowboys currently have the 26th pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. Ringo is projected to be a late first-round pick by many draft experts. He could be available for the Cowboys if they decide to go that direction. They are also in need of additional help at the cornerback position, so the pairing makes sense.

Kelee Ringo has built a reputation for himself as being a physically dominating cornerback who excels in press-man coverage. He carries an exceptionally large frame for his position, listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds. His size and style appear to be an ideal fit for what Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn prefers from his cornerbacks.

In each of the last two NFL Drafts, the Cowboys selected a cornerback in the early rounds. Trevon Diggs and Kelvin Joseph each profile similar builds and playing styles as Kelee Ringo. They excel in press-man coverage as their best defensive technique. The Cowboys could potentially go that route again and fill an area of need on their roster.

Anthony Brown and Trevon Diggs were the two starting cornerbacks for the Cowboys during the 2022 NFL season. Brown's contract expired at the end of the season, which means he is now an unrestricted free agent. Ringo could be drafted as his potential replacement. He possesses the upside of being an upgrade over Brown at the position.

The Cowboys finished second in the NFC East with a 12-5 record last season. They lost 19-12 to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round.

The 2023 NFL Draft will take place from April 27-29 at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
