Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won 33-16 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, and Tom Brady was calling this game for FOX Sports. Mayfield had earlier made comments about the players on the team being less stressed with him being the quarterback.
Many thought it was a dig at Brady, who was the Buccaneers' quarterback before Mayfield signed with the team last year. During the broadcast, Brady mentioned that 'being stressful is not having a Super Bowl ring' and said that if he wanted to have fun, he would have gone to Disneyland with his kids.
Following the game, Bill Belichick was asked about Brady's comments on the Pat McAfee show, and the former Patriots head coach defended the legendary quarterback. Belichick mentioned that nobody could question what Brady has done since he is 'probably the greatest player of all time'. He said:
"I certainly understand where Tom coming from. Honestly, I think there's a lot more stress when you're not winning. Winning is hard, it's very hard in the NFL... I think both of those guys have a lot of respect for each other. I don't think either one of them really is malicious."
"Look, Baker is his own person, Tom is his own person. They're both very successful. Nobody's more successful than Brady. I don't know anybody could question anything Tom has done... probably the greatest player of all time and certainly had the most success of any NFL player. So, let's leave it at that."

Brady and Mayfield have a good relationship and were seen greeting each other before the game. The two quarterbacks are from different eras and approach the game differently. Hopefully, the current Buccaneers quarterback will be able to achieve similar things as his predecessor.
After signing with the Buccaneers in 2020, Brady won a Super Bowl in his first season and also led the team to two division titles. He had a 32-18 record as the Buccaneers' quarterback.
Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers are off to a great start
After leading the Buccaneers to a division title last season, Baker Mayfield signed a three-year $100 million contract extension with the franchise. The team is off to a 3-1 start to the season and currently sits at the top of the NFC South division.
In four games this season, Mayfield has thrown for 984 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 70.5% of his throws. The Buccaneers' next game is against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football this week, and a win against them will put the franchise in a favorable position to win the division.
If Mayfield plays well against the Falcons and leads his team to a win, his name will be brought up in MVP discussions.
