The Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals was suspended during the first quarter after Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field. This took place after he made a routine tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins and got up quickly, but then went down.

The Bengals were leading the game 7-3. Hamlin collapsed and was taken off the field in an ambulance after receiving treatment for over ten minutes. CPR was administered to Hamlin on the field, and he also appeared to receive oxygen before being placed in the ambulance. While this was happening, his Bills teammates gathered together on the field and prayed for him.

Players from both teams were clearly emotional and worried about Hamlin.

The NFL officially suspended the game after both coaches discussed the decision with game officials. The ambulance left the stadium only after his mother had been located.

The league released a statement, stating that Hamlin was in critical condition.

When will Bills vs. Bengals be played?

Initially, after Hamlin had been removed from the field via ambulance, each team was given five minutes to warm before the game would resume. However, after the two coaches met again, they decided that they would wait.

The league postponed the game as neither team wanted to continue. All press conferences were canceled as well.

Joe Danneman reported that Buffalo would not be staying in Cincinnati, instead they would be flying home.
