Brian Robinson Jr's robbery: Who shot him?

Washington Commanders v Baltimore Ravens
Brian Robinson Jr. has returned to NFL

Six weeks after he was shot in an attempted armed robbery, Brian Robinson Jr. made his NFL debut for the Washington Commanders on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

Before one of the two male perpetrators shot him twice on a Sunday, Washington Commander's running back Brian Robinson Jr. "was able to wrestle a gun away," according to DC police on August 29.

According to NBC4, the incident took place in Northeast Washington in the 1000 block of H Street. When the suspects attempted to steal Robinson Jr's Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, a fight broke out, and gunfire ensued. After the event, Robinson Jr. was transferred to a local hospital.

Robinson's non-life-threatening injuries were treated at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Not long after, he posted on Instagram that his operation "went well" and that it had taken place.

Two young suspects with shoulder-length dreadlocks are still at large, with one of them donning black or brown clothing with yellow smiley faces on it.

Brian Robinson Jr. on comeback trail

Last Wednesday, Brian Robinson Jr. participated in the training, and on Saturday, he was taken off the list of non-football injuries.

Robinson stated on Wednesday:

"Right now, it's just one day at a time; continue to make positive strides and hopefully soon."

Robinson has made significant progress since being discharged from the hospital and was given the all-clear to participate again, which was enough for the 1-3 Commanders to start him. Even though Antonio Gibson started the game, the rookie running back was the last to be brought on.

Robinson entered the field for Washington's second offensive series and gained two yards.

He liked the experience of returning to the pitch and enjoyed being with his teammates and coaches again.

"To be honest, it was just a lovely day."

Despite incumbent Antonio Gibson coming off a season in which he rushed for 1,000 yards, Robinson emerged this summer as the clear favorite for Washington's top running back position. In the Commanders' first two exhibition games, he received a total of 16 touches.

All through the training camp, he alternated with Gibson as the team's starting ball carrier. At the very least, he was anticipated to join Gibsona frequentuent support in the run and pass games in 2022.

Robinson, a two-time national champion in Alabama, played for the Crimson Tide for five years before becoming a pro. In 2021, when he was a full-time starter, he broke the 1,400-yard mark for rushing.
