The Kansas City Chiefs added to their wide receiver room on Wednesday. It was reported that the Chiefs acquired receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans for a conditional fourth-round pick.
Kansas City has needed help at receiver after losing Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown to season-ending injuries. With the addition of Hopkins, NFL fans took to social media to express their excitement, believing this trade could set the Chiefs up for a potential three-peat.
"Chiefs are 3 peating aren’t they?," a fan said.
"And the rich get richer," another fan said.
NFL fans like the move as they believe Hopkins can help the Chiefs' struggling offense.
"Why are other organizations helping out Kansas City so damn much?," a fan said.
"This is going to be a huge addition!! KC is going to repeat!!," another fan said.
Hopkins should immediately help Kansas City's offense and could become the No. 1 receiver for the Chiefs.
"A potential game-changer for the Chiefs! Adding Hopkins could elevate their offense to a whole new level," a fan said.
Hopkins is in the final year of his deal with his cap hit being just over $8 million. The receiver has struggled this season as Hopkins has 15 receptions for 173 yards and a touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City Chiefs are just hitting their stride
Kansas City is off to a 6-0 start and surprisingly, the Chiefs have been led by its defense.
However, after Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49ers on the road on Sunday, Patrick Mahomes felt like the team is starting to hit its stride.
"I think just execution," Mahomes said, via Athlon. "Obviously, we were able to run the football, that was big, that's a real good defensive line, the offensive line stepped up, and we were able to run it down there. We found a way to get into the end zone, when you get points on the board, now its about cleaning up the turnovers. I think if we can do that, we can start hitting our stride."
The Chiefs then went out and added Hopkins to try and help the offense even more. Kansas City will return to the field on Sunday on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders.
