Stroud joined Pat McAfee's show, and McAfee credited Stroud's leadership and perseverance leading up to the Georgia game and asked him if he was always a leader the way he displayed.

He said:

"For me man, I definitely think that adversity isn't new to me. I definitely think that that's how I kinda grew up a little bit, just my childhood, I mean those were I wouldn't say life-or-death situations, those are more drastic sitatuions, but this is football, it's a game, and I do take it very seriously, I work my tail off everyday to get wins and make sure our fan base is happy."

He continued:

"Sometimes it doesn't go down like that. But my job is, as a leader of the football team and the quarterback is to keep everyone grounded and and just let people know at the end of the day it don't matter what they say, it's about what we know in this building and that was just the message and I tried to make sure it was clear for me and my teammates."
"People were talking too crazy we was like it's like people forget that we knew how to play football anymore. So I defintely think that everything happens for a reasonand I don't really base my thought process or my happiness of of people."
