Cole McDonald's XFL Salary: How much does former Titans QB earn?

Former NFL quarterback Cole McDonald now competes in the XFL, another professional football league. He gained attention after signing an exclusive contract with the Houston Roughnecks on November 15 last year, despite only having made sporadic appearances in the NFL.

The quarterback appeared briefly with the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL before getting a contract with the XFL. It was the first time in his professional career that he threw passes in a match in the regular season. He was employed as a backup quarterback, though.

There hasn't been a lot of clarity regarding his contractual agreement and wage breakdown in the XFL, as he has moved multiple times from one football league to another in the last few years.

Nevertheless, McDonald will earn a minimum of $22,000 this season while playing for the Roughnecks in accordance with the XFL's salary guidelines. Of course, if he leads his team to the semifinals, he will receive a much larger paycheck.

Cole McDonald's net worth reportedly ranges between $3-5 million. He received most of that after the Tennessee Titans selected him with the 224th overall selection in round 7 of the 2020 NFL draft. Before joining the CFL, he was also part of the Cardinals for a while.

In terms of his achievements and accomplishments, Cole McDonald has had a pretty amusing transition from college to the pros. He competed in Hawaii and sat out the first year. He accumulated 33 scores, 4,135 throwing yards, and 14 INTs as a junior. He received second-team All-MWC honors.

Oddly, he also played as a dual quarterback, rushing for 383 yards and seven scores. With so much on the line, the quarterback chose to forgo his last year of NCAA eligibility and declare for the draft.

With a strong NFL Combine performance and a 4.68 40-yard sprint, he was selected by the Titans as the 224th overall selection of the 2020 NFL draft. In 2021, he also worked out for the Arizona Cardinals.

After failing to make it with the Tennessee Titans and Cardinals, McDonald played with the Toronto Argonauts for one regular season. In his limited action, he had 45 career throwing yards and one INT, but he was cut in May 2022.
