Commanders fans turn on Carson Wentz after QB’s stone-cold response to a reporter- “I would smack the sh*t out of him if I saw him”

Carson Wentz started in Week 17 for the Washington Commanders. They lost 10-24 to the Cleveland Browns and are now officially out of playoff contention.

Wentz replaced Taylor Heinicke as the starting quarterback but he had a very poor game. Wentz threw for just 143 yards and had three interceptions. Many believed that starting Wentz was the wrong decision as the team was playing well with Heinicke as the quarterback.

After the game, a reporter asked the Commanders QB:

"Can you take us through your interception?"

Wentz responded:

"Which one?"

Here's how social media reacted to Wentz's response:

In defense of the Commanders' quarterback, he did throw three interceptions and he didn't know which one the reporter asked him about. It was another poor outing from Carson Wentz in a big game that had major playoff implications.

Last season, while he was the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, they lost in Week 18 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was the last game for Wentz as a Colts quarterback, and the loss to the Cleveland Browns yesterday might just be his last game for the Washington Commanders.

The Commanders will face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18, and with nothing to play for, it will be interesting to see how they approach this game.

Carson Wentz is not expected to be the Commanders QB next season

The Washington Commanders are likely to pursue a new quarterback for next season. They have been linked with Derek Carr and could trade for him once the season is over.

Carr would definitely be an upgrade over all the quarterbacks that the Commanders currently have on their roster. However, they will likely face some competition from other teams as well.

As for Carson Wentz, nobody knows yet what the future holds for him. He is likely to be on his fourth different team in four seasons and is unlikely to be the starting quarterback of any team next season.

Taylor Heinicke played well in Wentz's absence, but he also has his limitations. The Commanders took Sam Howell in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and we are yet to see him play in the league. As a result, it is very possible that we will see a new quarterback under center for the Commanders next season.
