Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is known for his hands-on approach when it comes to running his franchise. Jones, who amassed his fortune as an oil wildcatter, purchased the team back in 1989 and remains the team's general manager.

Very few NFL team owners are as involved as Jones when it comes to their side's day-to-day operations. So it was surprising when the news came out that Jones had dropped an f-bomb on New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Jones, though, himself has cleared this out. While appearing on 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys owner seemingly admitted to the report:

"In this particular case, it's probably accurate that I did express myself in probably a way that's not in good taste."

The dispute, according to ESPN, rose when the owners met to discuss whether to open contract negotiations with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. While 31 owners voted in favor of the new compensation committee, Jones was the only one to vote against it.

Jones is reportedly not happy about the the targets set for Goodell's proposed bonus pool in the new contract. With the terms not being connected to a strict financial target, the Cowboys owner felt the deal proposed was too vague.

The octogenarian, though, is not sweating over the matter. He even went on to say that he expected news of the verbal altercation to leak:

"It’s not surprising to me that it would get out."

NFL analyst believes Cowboys owner has reason to be jealous of Robert Kraft

While discussing the matter on Pro Football Talk, NFL analyst Mike Florio claimed that there was some kind of jealousy present between the two owners.

"There's a jealousy there. Although, you have to act like you're above being jealous of anyone when you're a multibillionaire. But they still they still size each other up. And Jones is in the Hall of Fame. Kraft isn't."

Jones has won three Super Bowl rings as owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. However, Kraft has achieved more success on the field with the New England Patriots, winning six Lombardis during his tenure.

Commercially, though, Jones has the last laugh as his beloved Cowboys were recently valued by Forbes at a whopping $8.8 billion. This makes America's Team not only the most valuable franchise in the NFL, but the entire world.
