Cowboys star Micah Parsons takes issue with Jahmyr Gibbs slamming 'sick' $10,000,000,000 franchise

Micah Parsons loves the Dallas Cowboys, where he has become a sack machine and multiple-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler. After (successfully) vouching for Dak Prescott to be extended on the highest-paying contract in league history and defending head coach Mike McCarthy amidst speculation over his job security, he has responded to a jab made by a conference rival against his team.

Appearing Thursday on Up & Adams, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs said he would be "so sick" if he would up with the billion-dollar franchise in last year's Draft. The linebacker responded on his X.com account:

"This is the biggest cap in AMERICA!!!"

The two sides have already met this seasons, with the Lions coming away winners in a mercilessly lopsided 17-9 rout in Arlington that saw Prescott humiliatingly get intercepted twice while Jared Goff threw for six thrice.

The Cowboys are in, as they would say, a tight spot heading into Sunday. They need to defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home and hope that the Washington Commanders lose against the Philadelphia Eagles.

There is one problem, however: their rivalry with the Eagels is one of the more heated in the league. And Micah Parsons is feeding into that narrative, saying during media availability on Thursday:

“At this point, it’s fuck Philly, now. Even if we got eliminated, like, I gotta crush Philly. Fuck them. I hate them now. I be seeing them just talking so much on socials. I don’t know, my Twitter page got consumed by Philly [fans].”

He also discussed his return to form after getting hurt in Week 4 and missing the next five games as a result. Last time at the Carolina Panthers, he accounted for two of the Cowboys' six sacks on Bryce Young, who was also intercepted twice and lost two fumbles.

Parsons said:

"For me it's just being resilient and proving people wrong. I carry that chip on me because I still feel like I'm still trying to prove myself in this league. and I feel like I'll never lose that chip. Like, I'm hungry for so much more than just being back."

The game against the Buccaneers kicks off at 8:20 PM ET/7:20 PM CT on NBC.
