“Dad basically proposed to us” – When Terry Bradshaw was left ‘mortified’ after ruining his daughter Rachel’s wedding proposal

Terry Bradshaw may have made plenty of plays in football during his iconic career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But he recently fumbled an opportunity when it came to his daughter Rachel's engagement to Chase Lybbert.

In an interview with People magazine back in November, Rachel spoke about her engagement to her now-fiancee, who she has been with for over a year. She said that the entire Bradshaw family was carving pumpkins, and Chase asked Terry to walk outside. It was then that he asked for his permission to propose.

The four-time Super Bowl champion proceeded to walk into the house and spill the beans. He told everyone what her fiancee had asked and that he had told him yes. She said that everyone in the room stopped because it felt like her father had just proposed to the entire room.

She said that while Chase wasn't prepared to propose that night but wanted to ask for her stepfather and grandfather's approval as well, he decided to do so anyway. In this instance, Terry knew he needed to make things right with his daughter.

She said that although it was a very spontaneous proposal, it was perfect and exactly what she wanted. Rachel and Chase have known each other for 15 years but didn't start dating until 2021.

Rachel was previously married to former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas, who tragically died in a car accident in 2014, just three months after they got married.

Terry is currently married to his wife Tammy; the two married in 2014 after 15 years together. This is his fourth marriage. He was previously married to Melissa Babish, JoJo Starbuck, and Charla Hopkins.

He and Hopkins were married for 16 years and had two daughters: Erin and Rachel. He also has a stepdaughter named Lacey Hester and three grandchildren: Zuri and Jeb, who are Lacey's children, and Erin's daughter Jessie. The family's shenanigans were documented in a reality show that lasted two seasons on E! titled "The Bradshaw Bunch."

The "Bradshaw Bunch" stopped filming at the end of 2021 when Terry began experiencing health issues. He has since gone into remission from two types of cancer and is doing well.
