Dak Prescott's four-year, $240 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys has made him the highest-paid NFL player in the league's history. With $231 million in guaranteed money, Prescott now ranks over quarterbacks like Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love and Joe Burrow.
However, Prescott had a humble beginning to his career. The Dallas Cowboys QB shared some insight into his life growing up and how he used to assume some difficult days were just vacations. He never saw the struggles for what they were, crediting his brothers and his mother for raising him that way
"Being the highest paid thinks to test in me to just always control what I could control," Prescott said on "I Am Athlete". "And at that time, I couldn't control whether the light bill or anything came on. It was my mood. It was loving y'all back to now.
"It's just doing what I can on the field and handling myself as the businessman as I am, to focus on things that I can control and love this game, give everything I can to this game, and understand everything takes care of itself when you do that. And so that's the way, way that y'all raised me," Prescott added. [2:06 mark].

Prescott is the youngest among four siblings: his older siblings Tad and Jace Prescott, his older sister, Natalie, and his half-brother Elliott Prescott. However, Jace committed suicide in April 2020.
Dak Prescott's girlfriend Sarah Jane celebrated his mammoth contract on social media
This year, Prescott's family has only grown in size. His girlfriend Sarah Jane gave birth to their daughter MJ Rose earlier in February.
Of course, Jane had to hype the QB's new $240 million contract.
"The most deserving man and the best partner and father. We love you, [Dak Prescott]," Jane wrote on IG after the contract was reported.
As the new season takes off, one can only expect more such moments from Prescott and his family.
