Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin was in the news again, thanks to a tweet from Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Eli Apple.

Hamlin got injured playing against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 of the regular season. When the two teams faced off again this past Sunday in the divisional round of the playoffs, Hamlin was watching. It was the first time he was back with the team since suffering his on-field collapse.

There seems to be a lot of drama between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals these days. Cincinnati defeated the Bills on the road this past Sunday, 27-10, in dominating fashion.

Hamlin posted an update on Twitter regarding the aftermath of this Sunday's playoff game and some drama that includes Bengals' defensive back, Eli Apple.

"Thankful for all the GENUINE love, thoughts & prayers from all across the world.. y’all will hear from me soon!"

After the loss, Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs had a meltdown and stormed out of the locker room, clearing all of his belongings. He posted a tweet saying that it's easy to criticize his reaction more than the result.

Then, Bengals DB Eli Apple chimed in and tweeted "Cancun on 3" with a close-hearted emoji.

Many regarded the tweet as Apple throwing shade at Hamlin, by mentioning his number and the close-hearted gesture that has become famous amid his injury.

Apple stated in another tweet that he wasn't throwing shade at Hamlin and that he wouldn't make light of the unfortunate event.

"All love thoughts prayers and concerns to @HamlinIsland as he continues to recover from that tragic incident. Never would I make light of that scary unfortunate scene. This game is truly a dangerous risk to our bodies mind and spirit. Nothing but love to all my football brothers."

Not everyone was a fan of Apple's Tweet. Bills defensive lineman Shaq Lawson tweeted that Apple played a good game but he could get beat up for that kind of disrespect.

Apple recorded six tackles and a pass deflection in the game while the team held Josh Allen to under 275 passing yards.

Eli Apple and the Bengals will be getting ready to play in their second-straight AFC Championship game following their victory over the Bills.
