Darius Slayton believes dating the Kardashians is the biggest curse in sports

Darius Slayton is still a free agent who is expected to sign with a team in the coming days. Slayton has spent the last four years with the New York Giants since being drafted by them in 2019.

Last year, a Twitter debate broke out on what was the biggest curse in sports to which the Giants receiver had a great answer. Here's what Slayton said:

"Dating a khardashian"

The Kardashian curse is certainly real, and it was pretty evident when Devin Booker was dating Kendall Jenner and the Phoenix Suns lost in the 2021 NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. Booker's performance did not suffer while dating Jenner, but missing out on the NBA Championship was a major setback.

Moreover, this curse was in full effect when Blake Griffin played for the Los Angeles Clippers and was also dating Kendall Jenner. In 2017, he began dating Kendall Jenner. Soon after, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons, and a succession of injuries derailed his career.

Between 2009 and 2016, former NBA player Lamar Odom was married to Khloe Kardashian. Their marriage was riddled with controversies as Odom struggled with alcohol and substance abuse, which eventually led to him suffering from a variety of diseases.

Ben Simmons was another player who fell victim to the Kardashian curse. The former rookie of the year's career has taken a dramatic turn since he began dating Kendall Jenner. He is no longer the player he once was, and Simmons is now battling to overcome a mental barrier.

As a result, Darius Slayton's description of the 'Kardashian curse' as the biggest curse in sports is fairly accurate.

Darius Slayton took a pay cut to stay with the New York Giants last season, but he is expected to leave the franchise in ongoing free agency.

Various sources indicate that the Atlanta Falcons have ramped up their interest in Slayton and want to pair him up with Drake London. As of now, Desmond Ridder is expected to be the Falcons' starting quarterback next season, but things could change around the draft.

Slayton will fit in perfectly with the Falcons' offense, and he would definitely love to play alongside a talented young receiver like London. Last season, Slayton had 46 catches for 724 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in 16 games.
