Derrick Henry has unquestionably been the workhorse for the Tennessee Titans' offense this season. That will all change now as the star running back could be out for their Week 17 matchup versus the Dallas Cowboys.
The Titans could be in some real danger as Henry's backup hasn't seen many snaps this season. Running back Hassan Haskins is a rookie running back drafted by the Titans in the fourth round of this year's NFL Draft.
Haskins has 11 carries for 50 yards in 13 games this season. The former Michigan Wolverines star also has seven receptions for 31 yards. He's had a total of just 97 offensive snaps for the Titans while having 220 snaps on special teams. Haskins will now face a Dallas Cowboys defense that has allowed just eight rushing touchdowns this season.
The Cowboys are tied for the third-fewest rushing touchdowns allowed in the NFL. By comparison, Henry is tied for second with 13 touchdowns. However, there could be a glimmer of hope for Haskins versus the stout Cowboys defense. They've allowed the 11th most rushing yards per game at 130.
Should Titans head coach Mike Vrabel rest Henry versus the Cowboys in Week 16 as they look to make the postseason? Given the three-time Pro Bowler's injury status, it might not be that bad of an idea.
