Deshaun Watson is nearing the end of his nearly two-year-long legal nightmare while Kyrie Irving's is just beginning. That is, at least, how one fan has connected the two. Responding to a clip on Twitter pulled from the Undisputed sports show, the fan claimed that Irving and the quarterback's situations were similar.

The show host himself responded to the comparison, explaining that the basketball star's offense wasn't illegal but the quarterback's offenses were.

Here's what the fan originally said:

"You're being very kind. It's who you are. Unfortunately, that said, I vaguely remember Deshaun Watson apologizing. And then what happened?"

Sharpe responded with an accusation:

"Watson has case(s) pending. Not sure you understand how the law wrks"

Deshaun Watson's suspension is coming to a close, with the quarterback is slated to return to the field in Week 13, against the Houston Texans.

Why is Kyrie Irving suspended?

Kyrie Irving was suspended for five games following his decision to link his social media to an anti-Semitic documentary. According to CNN, he originally defended his actions before issuing an apology later that day.

“To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize. I initially reacted out of emotion to being unjustly labeled Anti-Semitic, instead of focusing on the healing process of my Jewish Brothers and Sisters that were hurt from the hateful remarks made in the [video]."

Nike also suspended their endorsement of the star as the controversy reached a fever pitch. In 2022, the star had played in eight games already. In those games, he was proving to be roughly as effective as he had been in every season going back to 2011.

In 2022, he has averaged 38 minutes of action per game, earning about 27 points per contest. That said, his shooting ability from downtown has started sluggishly this year, down to a career-low 28 percent.

Despite what the fan mentioned above has said, there is a big difference between Deshaun Watson and Kyrie Irving's situations. Watson is accused of sexual assault, which, if true is a far bigger crime than linking to an offensive documentary.
