Tom Brady is not taking to the booth until September, but he is already studying the art of broadcasting via the spring leagues. On Saturday, the legendary former quarterback was seen at the UFL game between the Memphis Showboats and Michigan Panthers (the latter won 24-18).

The game aired on Fox, who have employed Brady as its lead NFL analyst on a record 10-year, $375-million contract.

Fans perceived it as a way for him to assess the craft ahead of his debut:

Others had wilder assumptions:

"Tom heard the Panthers are down to their 7th QB, even wore the sport blazer just in case he had to take it off," one claimed.
"Tell Tom to buy a UFC team," begged another.
"Suit him up for the battlehawks game tomorrow," yet another implored.

Tom Brady reached out to Greg Olsen for broadcasting advice

When Tom Brady finally appears beside Kevin Burkhardt, he will replace Greg Olsen, who will return to the No. 2 team beside Joe Davis. That has not sat well with many fans, who had come to praise the former three-time Pro Bowl tight end's work.

But Olsen has no hard feelings about the change, revealing in an interview for USA Today that the two of them had spoken about the nuances of sportscasting:

"He [Brady] was just kind of picking my brain about the prep and the industry and what to expect and whatnot. So, I don’t know.
I think everyone thinks getting up there and calling a live football game for three hours off the cuff, and being able to get in, get out, deal with the flow of the game, the players, the schemes, the terminology — there’s a lot going on, and I think some guys really transition to it well and take to it pretty quickly. And other guys haven’t."

But ultimately for him, being an elite player in the past does not necessarily equate to becoming an elite broadcaster:

“So, obviously, his playing career and his resume and whatnot is an all-timer. So, you know, we’ll see how the year goes... how it all plays out.”

Brady's first assignment as a broadcaster will be the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns on September 8. The game will kick off at approximately 4:25 PM ET.
