Former NFL player labels Tom Brady and Buccaneers biggest "pretenders" of 2022 season - "Everything about this team is pretend"

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a gut-wrenching loss in overtime to the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. Their defense failed to stop Jacoby Brissett and the Browns were able to capitalize on it.

With this loss, the Buccaneers fell to 5-6 but are still top of the NFC South. The Buccaneers showed some signs of bouncing back in the last few weeks, but this loss to the Browns was devastating.

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings is completely counting out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and doesn't believe they are a good team. He labeled them as "pretenders." Here's what he said about the Buccaneers on First Things First:

"Pretenders, everything about this team is pretend, oh, everything, everything, everything... they don't have an O line protecting their quarterback, they don't have a quarterback that can protect their own line, they don't have the defense that can actually be stout any longer."

Jennings added:

"Mike Evans has disappeared. The head coach is not really good for this team. Like I can go on and on and on. Yeah, this team is a pretender. They are going to win their division based on them just having a terrible division period."

He continued:

"Oh, Tom Brady, he came back in the clutch and he ended the game with the game winning drive...We just happen to love the fact that Tom Brady does it more consistently than everybody that we knew then. Yeah, that we knew then this Bucs team, they can't score, they can't defend, they don't do anything."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles was heavily criticized for not managing the clock well and questions are being asked about his ability.

Many believe that this team was better with Bruce Arians as the head coach and Todd Bowles isn't able to handle the team well. The Buccaneers have regressed on both sides of the field this season, which is a big concern.

Tom Brady and Mike Evans are not on the same page

Brady has missed the services of both Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski this season. Although Mike Evans is still there, the receiver and the quarterback aren't on the same page.

Brady targeted Mike Evans nine times in the loss to the Cleveland Browns, but the receiver had only two receptions for 31 yards. If Brady and Evans continue to play like this, then it will be very tough for the Buccaneers to win a game in the playoffs.

Next up they are against the struggling New Orleans Saints, but the Saints' defense has always given Tom Brady a tough time. It will be interesting to see how the Buccaneers bounce back in that game.
