Lamar Jackson is attempting to break the bank of either his current team or the next one. However, to get there, he has to maneuver through the mysterious world of negotiation.
Everyone has their own strategies for maximizing personal profit, but analyst and former New England Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich blamed the quarterback for mentioning his own injury struggles in the past. Here's how he put it:
"Lamar, stop tweeting and... don't even talk about your PCL. These teams, when you start bringing it back up, they're like, 'Well, he had a PCL. He's even talking about his PCL. Lamar Jackson looks to return to the playoffs in 2023
Whether the quarterback plays for the Baltimore Ravens or another team in 2023, expectations remain similar. Above all, he needs to win at a consistent level with his opening three-year run as opposed to what he did in 2021 and 2022.
In his first three seasons, he went 30-7 and won an MVP. In his past two seasons, he's gone 15-9 and failed to be available for the playoffs. In one season, the team didn't make it. In the other, they did, but were forced to rely on their backup quarterback.
No matter where he lands in 2023, most agree it will be playoffs and a full season of availability or bust for the quarterback. Many agree that three seasons in a row of availability issues won't do. Will 2023 serve as a return to form or a return to the same pattern of the past couple of years?
