Shedeur Sanders is the most heavily-discussed prospect of the 2025 Draft, and not without good reason: he is the son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion, who is also his head coach at Colorado. That is not to take away from his football skills, but it is the first thing that fans will think about.

The Dallas Cowboys, Deion's former team, have expressed interest - and may do so again with Dak Prescott's career likely to be affected by his hamstring injury. So are the New York Giants, who need a new quarterback after releasing Daniel Jones in the middle of the 2024 season.

Both those teams will clash on Thanksgiving, but former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin is unhappy with the stakes. On Monday's episode of FS1's "SPEAK" he said:

“Right now we’re probably at a place where we need to start looking at the draft. I thought we were going to be having the Shedeur Bowl Thursday when they play the Giants... I’m really conflicted.”

Raiders also frontrunners to land Shedeur Sanders

Elsewhere, another team looks like a clear-cut frontrunner for the Shedeur Sanders sweepstakes: the Las Vegas Raiders, whose already-poor quarterback situation has gotten even worse because of injuries to sophomore Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew, the latter season-ending.

Signing former Atlanta Falcons starter Desmond Ridder from the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad is unlikely to alleviate their problems, so The 33rd Team's Tyler Brooke thinks the AFC West's worst team will get the third overall draft pick and use it on a potential franchise face on offense.

He writes that his selection goes beyond his burgeoning relationship with minority owner Tom Brady:

"As a prospect, Sanders shows great toughness when stepping into throws when he knows he's going to hit. He has the arm talent to deliver an accurate ball all over the field. He's not a great athlete and won't be a dual threat at the next level, but he has the pocket presence to avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield.
"Sanders could come in and immediately contend for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, provided the Raiders work on building an offense around him."

The 2025 NFL Draft will be held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 24-26.
